Who is Mormon

Mormon was an ancient prophet who lived in the America's around 321 AD.  He abridged the Book of Mormon which was translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith in 1823. Because of the title of this book, members of our church are referred to as Mormons.  The official name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  The Book of Mormon is another witness of Jesus Christ covering the people who lived in the America's from 620 B.C. to AD 421.

One of my favorite chapters in the Book of Mormon is Moroni 7:45 "And charity suffereth long
and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things".  These qualities in my mind represent how we can become Christlike.  We are counseled in this chapter to pray with all the energy of our heart that we can be filled with this love which is the pure love of Jesus Christ.
